Affiris raises €10m from MIG et al.
Austrian vaccine developer Affiris has raised a €10m funding round from existing backers MIG Verwaltungs, family office Santo Holding and new investor FCPG Affi.
Affiris stated it has attracted €130m of funding to date, of which half comes from licence income and government grants.
An adapted management structure and the fresh capital are supposed to support the development of its vaccines, both pre-clinical and clinical.
The company's supervisory board appointed Günther Staffler as chief technology officer. Staffler was previously Affiris's head of immunology. Noel Barrett has joined the supervisory board this month.
MIG is currently investing from its 15th fund, which is still fundraising with a target of €70m and a hard-cap of €100m. Affiris is the vehicle's seventh portfolio company.

In November 2008, MIG invested €3m in Affiris via its MIG 5 and MIG 7 vehicles. In April 2006, MIG invested €8.5m in the company.
