Atlantic Labs leads funding round for Peat
VC Atlantic Labs has led a seven-digit funding round for Hannover- and Berlin-based plant disease diagnostics app developer Peat.
Alongside Atlantic Labs, business angels Christoph Maires, Johannes Reck and others invested in the round.
With the new capital, Peat will roll out the international expansion of its first app Plantix, starting with a planned launch in India. Once the app is used worldwide, the company hopes to be able to identify disease outbreaks and develop an early warning system for farmers.
Company
Berlin-based technology startup Peat has developed an app called Plantix that allows farmers and other plant growers to identify and diagnose diseases. Users take a picture of the plant, upload it to the app and get a list of the most likely afflictions as well as advice on how to treat them. The app has been downloaded around 60,000 times in the DACH region, according to the business.
