Ringier, BtoV, et al. in €6m round for Foodspring
Ringier Digital Ventures has led a funding round for Berlin-based sports and fitness nutrition company Foodspring.
Also investing in the round were VC house BtoV Partners, Deutsche Handeslbank and private investors, as well as Berlin-based holding company Econa, which co-founded Foodspring.
The company will use the fresh capital to expand into other European countries, as well as develop its food products and build its team.

Foodspring was co-founded by Berlin-based entrepreneurial holding company Econa, which also provided the company with seed capital.

Foodspring was founded in 2013 by Tobias Schüle and Philipp Schrempp. The company manufactures and sells healthy sports and fitness foods – the ingredients are sourced globally but the product is produced in Germany. The company employs 80 people and operates in 14 countries.
