
AnaCap-backed Heidelpay acquires Startec
AnaCap Financial Partners portfolio company Heidelpay has acquired Hamburg-based payment technology company Startec for an undisclosed sum.
The GP supported the transaction with equity from AnaCap Financial Partners III, an €850m fund that held a final close in February 2016.
AnaCap announced the acquisition of Heidelpay in January 2017, and obtained approval for the deal from German supervisory authority BaFin two weeks prior to the Startec bolt-on, according to a source close to the situation.
The acquisition will expand Heidelpay's service offering for online and offline payments.
AnaCap said the combined business had grown transaction volumes by 30% for the year to September 2017. It estimates the market as a whole to be worth €154bn in Europe.

Startec was founded in 2005 and is based in Hamburg. It is a payment processing technology company with 12,000 customers in Germany. It makes payment software for online transactions, as well as physical terminals.
