Auctus-backed Fernao buys Datadirect
Auctus Capital Partners has supported the bolt-on of IT services business Datadirect for Fernao Networks Group, its buy-and-build strategy in the segment.
The combined group will employ 390 people and generate revenues of approximately €80m.
Fernao acquired the business to gain access to the market of Chinese businesses operating in Germany, where Datadirect has most of its client relationships.
Auctus kicked off its IT services buy-and-build strategy with the purchase of Cologne-based Magellan Netzwerke in March 2016. Since then it has added Computer Stamm, Vonroll Itec and Globits.
The platform was established using equity from Auctus Capital Partners Fund IV, a €230m buyout fund that held a final close on its hard-cap in December 2014.
Company
Datadirect was founded in 2009 and is headquartered in Freiburg. It was founded as a subsidiary of Datadirect Taicang to assist Chinese companies with operations in Germany with their IT infrastructure. It employs 40 people and generated revenues of €10m in 2017.
