DBAG-backed Gienanth buys SLR Gusswerk
Gienanth, backed by Deutsche Beteiligungs AG (DBAG), has acquired Austrian iron specialist SLR Gusswerk and its two subsidiaries.
The acquisition includes machine moulding iron foundry SLR-Gusswerk II Betriebsgesellscha and metal-working company SLR-Metallbearbeitungs-Gesellschaft, both located in Steyr, Austria. The divisions will be rebranded as Gienanth Steyr Guss and Gienanth Steyr MBA, respectively following the deal.
The deal also comprises metal-working business SLR-Czechia, based in Kaplice/Bujanov, Czech Republic, which will be renamed as Gienanth Czechia.
DBAG acquired a majority stake in German foundry Gienanth in an all-equity deal inked in December 2014. The GP invested via its DBAG Fund VI, which held a final close on its €700m hard-cap in August 2012.
The company underwent a refinancing in 2015 provided by a club of banks led by Kreissparkasse Biberach and Sparkasse Rhein-Nahe.
