HTGF backs AirGateway
German venture capital house High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF) has provided a seed funding round for Berlin-based AirGateway.
The company intends to use the seed financing to improve its product offering, expand its operations and consolidate its market position within the airline distribution space.
HTGF specialises in seed capital investment in Germany-based tech-driven startups with revenues of up to €10m, and deploys equity tickets between €500,000-2m.
Unquote understands that the firm invested in AirGateway via its HTGF III fund, which was launched in 2016 with a €310m target and held a final close in May 2018 on €316.5m.

Established in 2016 and based in Berlin, AirGateway offers an API solution and a web-based booking tool to connect travel agents to airline companies. The company's NDC Gateway aggregator enables online travel agencies, travel management companies and tour operators to adopt the NDC standard launched by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), while saving development costs and time.
