
GFC et al. back $2.3m round for Demodesk
Global Founders Capital (GFC), FundersClub, Y Combinator and Kleiner Perkins have led a $2.3m seed financing round for screen-sharing web conferencing software company Demodesk.
The company also drew funding from angel investors Immad Akhund, Jude Gomila, Brad Flora, Hanno Renner and Philipp Rösch-Schlanderer.
Demodesk plans to use the fresh capital to grow the business and develop its screen-sharing web conferencing technology platform.
GFC is currently investing from Global Founders Capital Fund I, which closed in May 2013 on €150m. The fund recently participated in the $2.8m series-A financing round for Hamburg-based mobile gaming studio Sviper.
San Francisco-based FundersClub focuses on early-stage, seed and series-A financings.
US firm Y Combinator held the final close for its early-stage and growth capital fund, Y Combinator Continuity Fund I, in October 2015 on $700m. The fund's recent activity includes participation in the $20m series-B funding round for Hungarian software company Bitrise.
Kleiner Perkins is currently investing from several venture funds. The firm's recent investments in Germany include its participation in Berlin-based publishing group Inkitt's $16m series-A round.

Demodesk provides web conferencing technology that incorporates screen sharing, with a focus on sales jobs. It was founded in Munich in 2017 by Alex Popp and Veronika Riederle. The group has offices in both Munich and San Francisco. It employs 12 staff, according to its website.
