
RTP Global leads €6.6m series-A for Plantix
RTP Global has lead a €6.6m series-A financing round for Plantix, a German AI-based software platform that enables the detection of plant disease.
New investor Piton Capital also participated in the round, as well as existing investors Atlantic Labs and Index Ventures.
Plantix is a software platform developed by Peat. Plantix will use the fresh capital to grow its platform, including for international expansion to Vietnam and Indonesia.
Prior to this round, UK-based VC Piton's most recent investment in Germany was via its participation as an existing investor in the €6m round for translation software producer Iengoo.
Atlantic Labs recently took part in a €6m round for autonomous street cleaning vehicle producer Enway, as reported by Unquote.
Previous funding
In April 2017, Atlantic Labs led a seven-digit funding round for Peat, with additional investment from business angels including Christoph Maires and Johannes Reck.
In August, RTP led a second round, with investment from Index Ventures and Atlantic Labs.

Berlin-based Plantix is a software platform that uses image recognition software to detect plant disease. The app provides a database and real-time communication service for users to detect and treat plant disease, as well as alert services related to weather and pesticide application.
Plantix was founded by app developer Peat in 2015. Peat has 58 employees, according to LinkedIn.
