DBAG-backed Vitronet buys Telewenz
Vitronet, a portfolio company of Deutsche Beteiligungs AG, is to acquire cable network installation company Telewenz, according to a filing with the German competition authority.
DBAG backed the MBO of Vitronet in April 2017, investing via DBAG Expansion Capital Fund. The GP also invested €8.5m from its balance sheet and indirectly holds a 40% stake in the company, with the remaining equity held by the company's management.
Vitronet, which provides both private and public sector companies with the installation of fibre-optic cables, has made a number of add-ons during the investment period. The company acquired cable manufacturer Heinz Lutkemeier in September 2019.
The GP is currently also pursuing a buy-and-build strategy in the telecommunications sector via Ding-Gruppe, as reported by Unquote.
DBAG was not available for comment at the time of publication.
