Bregal's SHD bolts on Tesy
Furniture and kitchen design software business SHD, a portfolio of Bregal Unternehmenkapital, has acquired Italy-based furniture design software company Tesy.
Tesy founders Ennio Zanucco and Francesco Becattini will remain on board as managing directors.
The acquisition is expected to add to SHD's product offering in the field of design software. The company already provides HR, planning, financial management and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software for companies in the furniture and kitchen design sector.
The add-on is the third during the investment period, following the acquisition of Netherlands-based Simar and France-based Pragma Informatique. Bregal said in a statement that it plans to make further strategic acquisitions in Germany and abroad.
Bregal bought a majority stake of 67.55% in SHD in June 2017 from Elvaston Capital, which retained a minority stake in the business. SEB Acquisition Finance provided senior debt financing to back the acquisition, according to Unquote Data. At the time, SHD reported revenues of €45m and employed 462 people.
Company
Tesy produces furniture design software for use by furniture retailers and businesses. It has four software products: Metron, which is aimed at interior designers and businesses; Trend, which uses designs from Metron to generate photorealistic images; Fixsystem, which allows businesses to generate quotes based on designs; and Virtuo, which can be used by customers to visualise the furniture designs in their home.
Based in Treviso, Tesy was formed in 2008 via the merger of Tecne Software and Fixxilab. It has 75 staff and reports revenues of €6m.
