Adcuram's MEA acquires Vilgertshofer Bausysteme
Building materials supplier MEA Group, a portfolio company of Adcuram, has acquired concrete light well specialist Vilgertshofer Bausysteme.
Vilgertshofer Bausysteme will operate as MEA Bausysteme Betonfertigung following the acquisition, according to a statement.
The acquisition is intended to expand MEA's product and service offering in the area of concrete shafts and wells, as well as enable the expansion of its production capacities, Adcuram said in a statement.
A spokesperson for Adcuram told Unquote that the GP supplied additional equity to back the bolt-on, as well as MEA's planned capacity expansion. The firm has also reserved additional funds for future bolt-ons.
Asked about MEA's plans for future add-on acquisitions, the same spokesperson said: "MEA is ideally positioned to grow in each of its three business segments, also by bolt-on acquisitions. In 2019, we already strengthened the metal application segment of MEA with the acquisition of ASM, a specialist in stainless steel, and we continue to look for suitable targets. The same holds true for MEA's water management and building systems divisions: for each, we are looking for medium-sized partners with minimum €10m in revenues to either broaden MEA's geographical reach, or to complement its product portfolio."
Adcuram acquired MEA in August 2018. The company generated revenues of €100m and employed 700 people at the time of the investment. Adcuram generally invests in industrial businesses headquartered in western Europe, focusing on mid-market companies with enterprise values of up to €150m and revenues of €30-500m.
