Argantis divests WIS Group
German private equity house Argantis has sold WIS Group, a provider of security services, to private investors.
As part of the transaction and the firm's capital restructuring, debt investor EDFC Capital and a co-investor acquired WIS's existing senior and mezzanine syndicated facilities.
Argantis bought WIS in a management buyout in 2008, with a debt package including senior debt and mezzanine provided by Sal Oppenheim and MML Capital Partners respectively.

Founded in 1901, WIS provides customised security services to the aviation security sector, events and fairs, TV studios and museums.
Headquartered in Cologne, the firm has 27 offices across Germany and employs around 3,500 staff. WIS generates a €100m turnover.
People
Axel Mau is the managing director of WIS. Robert Stein, Ingo Jacoby and Stephan Göbel handled the initial transaction for Argantis in 2008.
