HTGF backs BioRob
High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF) has invested seed capital in German lightweight robot developer BioRob.
The company will boost its R&D efforts as well as invest in marketing and sales, particularly targetting small- and medium-size enterprises, for which traditional industrial robots are unsuited.
HTGF typically invests up to €500,000 in first rounds. Dr Schulze Consulting also participated in this round.
Company
BioRob was founded by Oskar von Stryk, Bernhard Möhl and Jan Röhlinger in 2010 as a spin-off from Technical University Darmstadt. The company specialises in the development and production of the bionic inspired lightweight robot BioRob.
The robot is intended for use in industrial automation, especially for pick & place, inspection and co-worker applications.
People
Michael Strzyz is an investment manager at HTGF. Gisbert Schulze is the president and owner of Dr Schulze Consulting, which invests in start-up companies and medium-sized businesses.
