PE-backed MeinAuto takes over Autoda
Online car buying platform MeinAuto, backed by Holtzbrinck Ventures, has bought fellow online car purchasing platform Autoda.
MeinAuto bought Autoda to increase its range of products, going from purely focusing on newly manufactured cars to incorporating second-hand vehicles.
Holtzbrinck reportedly owns a 37% stake in Autoda while Rocket Internet is said to own 20%. Alexander Brugge, co-founder of MeinAuto, reportedly owns a 1% stake in Autoda.
Company
Autoda was founded in 2010 by Sebastian Klauke and Andreas von Lochow. The firm is based in Cologne.
The online platform offers used cars for sale.
People
Carsten Seel and Alexander Brugge are MeinAuto's co-founders. Christoph Jung is managing partner at Holtzbrinck and led the original deal in MeinAuto. Sebastian Klauke is Autoda's founder and CEO.
