Ardian-backed Trescal bolts on Kalibrix
Ardian has backed the bolt-on of Kalibrix by its portfolio company Trescal, a calibration services company.
The acquisition increases Trescal's existing turnover of €216m by €2m. Trescal stated that Kalibrix's specialisation in mechanical measurement and materials testing machines is a complementary addition to its current product offering. Kalibrix founder and managing director Christian Michel will keep his role for the time being.
For Trescal, this marks the 15th bolt-on since Ardian took ownership in July 2013. In January, the company bought Canadian company Primo Instrument. At the end of 2015, it acquired Spain-based Laboratorio MCI, Quality Systems Laboratory from Florida and Brazilian company MEC Q.
Company
Founded in 1996 and based in Lüdenscheid, Kalibrix offers laboratory and on-site calibration services in dimensional metrology and electrical quantities. The company's 25 employees work for customers from the automotive, electrical, mechanical engineering and aviation industries.
