Robert Bosch backs Emperra's $3.1m series-B
Robert Bosch Venture Capital (RBVC) has joined existing backers Peppermint Venture Partners and Investitionsbank des Landes Brandenburg (ILB) in the $3.1m series-B of Emperra, a German digital diabetes-management business.
The company, whose product received reimbursement status from German health insurers, plans to use the fresh capital to accelerate its growth in Europe and the US.
RBVC, the corporate venture capital arm of the Bosch Group, provides €500,000-5m in its first investment and €10-15m maximum per company. It takes equity stakes of around 10-15% and executes up to 10 investments per year.
Previous funding
In May 2013, Peppermint and Goodvent led the €2.6m series-A round of Emperra. ILB and Mittelständische Beteiligungsgesellschaft Berlin-Brandenburg also participated.
Company
Emperra developed a digital diabetes-management system, Esysta, which guides and monitors patients. The therapy data can be shared among the patient, physicians, nurses and care givers. The company is based in Potsdam, Germany.
