
KWM hires new counsel

King & Wood Mallesons SJ Berwin (KWM) has appointed lawyer and tax consultant Lutz Boxberger to its international funds and tax practices.
Boxberger previously worked for KWM as an associate between 2009 and 2011, before moving to Weitnauer. Prior to 2009, he held positions at the State of Hesse's fiscal authorities and at Debevoise & Plimpton in Frankfurt. He also co-published commentary on the German Investment Code of Law (Kapitalanlagegesetzbuch – KAGB) and on the AIFM Tax Act.
Boxberger specialises in tax and investment regulatory law with a particular focus on fund formation. He advises private equity and other alternative asset fund managers, institutional investors and investment advisers on fund formations, fund investments, carried interest and co-investment arrangements.
Boxberger will be based at the firm's Munich office. The German tax team consists of 10 people, advising on transactions, fund structuring and corporate restructuring.
