Index Ventures backs Movinga's $25m series-B
New investor Index Ventures has led the $25m series-B of German online removals company Movinga, alongside the company’s existing backers.
The company will use the fresh capital to hire additional staff and to improve its technology and customer care.
Movinga's announcement comes shortly after its competitor Movago announced its €7m series-A, which was led by DN capital. unquote" took a closer look at the two company's rivalry in last month's Deal in Focus.
Previous funding
Movinga closed its first funding round in August 2015, announcing that Earlybird and a number of business angels invested a seven-digit sum in the company.
The next capital injection followed in October, when existing backers joined Global Founders Capital for a €6m round.
In November, Finn Age Hänsel joined the company as an investor as well as managing director.
Company
Founded in January 2015 and based in Berlin, Movinga lets users organise their house move online. It has its own fleet of removal vans and also borrows spare vehicles from other removal firms. The company has 250 employees.
The founders stated that the business was already generating millions of euros in revenue.

Timm Schipporeit is an investor at Index Ventures. Hendrik Brandis is co-founder and partner at Earlybird. Bastian Knutzen is Movinga's founder and managing director.
