
HTGF backs €1m seed round for Venneos
High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF), Max Planck Innovation and other investors have backed a €1m seed round for Stuttgart-based imaging system developer Venneos.
Business angels and family offices also took part in the round.
Venneos is currently working with pilot customers to improve its prototype. The company intends to hire more staff following the funding round.
Max Planck Innovation is responsible for technology transfer from the research institutes of the Max Planck Society, supporting scientists in founding companies.
HTGF invests between €500,000-2m in Germany-based technology companies. Its latest investment prior to Venneos was in April, when it commited to the €6.2m series-A of Omeicos, which develops treatments for cardiovascular diseases.

Founded in 2014 and based in Stuttgart, Venneos is a spinout from Max Planck Society. It develops and markets a silicon-chip-based imaging system for the analysis of biological cells. Potential customers are researchers in areas such as tumour biology, immunology and pharmacology as well as companies in the pharma and biotech sector. The team consists of five people.
