HTGF and Seedfonds BW invest in tocario
High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF) and Seedfonds Baden-Württemberg have invested in a first round of funding for German virtual desktop provider tocario.
HTGF typically invests €500,000 in first rounds. The funding will help tocario launch its next generation of Hosted Virtual Desktops (HVD) for SMEs and service providers worldwide.
The GP stated it saw potential in the company's new technology, which is the first to reach the graphics-intensive and mobile applications markets with its desktop-as-a-service offering.
Company
tocario was established in Stuttgart in January 2011 by Mario Lombardo (CTO), Tobias Ott (CIO) and Carsten Unnerstall (CEO). It developed a Hosted Virtual Desktop (HVD) technology for service providers and small- and medium-sized customers; professional desktop infrastructures were previously available to enterprise customers only.
