Microdyn-Nadir GmbH (Germany) - Dec 2007

Global Equity Partners Beteiligungs-Management AG has sold its stake in filtration membrane company Microdyn-Nadir GmbH, a portfolio company of Buy-Out Central Europe I (Buy-Out CE I). The company was acquired by a strategic investor from Germany for an undisclosed amount. The new owner plans to continue the company’s successful growth and further internationalise the business.

The return was cited as being several times the original investment, with the profit for investors being cited as more than 30% per annum.

Microdyn-Nadir is headquartered in Wiesbaden and has offices and representatives in Italy, France, the Netherlands, China, the US and Brazil. Cooperations were formed with partners in Turkey, Japan, Singapore, Russia and South Africa.

Previous funding

At the end of 2002, Global Equity Partners acquired both Microdyn Modulbau GmbH & Co KG, based in Wuppertal, and Nadir Filtration GmbH, based in Wiesbaden. Both companies specialised in different segments of filtration technology. The investor recognised the synergy potential, merged and restructured the companies. In 2004, Walter Lamparter took over as the CEO of the company, who focused on quality and expansion.
