
HTGF et al. in €2.6m Transcatheter Tech series-B round
High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF), Tubaflex Beteiligungs GmbH and others have backed a €2.6m series-B round for German biotech business Transcatheter Technologies, a developer of transcatheter heart valve technology.
The funding round saw existing investors HTGF and Tubaflex joined by new backers, which remain undisclosed.
The business will use the funding to take its flagship product Trinity, a device for transcatheter aortic valve implantation, to clinical trials.
Transcatheter Tech has received two previous funding rounds: a €1.7m series-A round from HTGF in 2011 and a €600,000 seed financing from HTGF and Bayern Kapital in 2009.

Transcatheter Tech was founded in Regensburg in 2009. The biotech firm is in the process of developing a proprietary system for transcatheter aortic valve implantation called Trinity.

Rolf Käse of Tubaflex was lead investor in this round. He is also chairman of the company's advisory board.
