
Triton’s Compo sells Expert division
Triton portfolio company Compo has sold its Expert division to XIO Group, in order to focus on the Compo Consumer business unit.
XIO Group is an alternative investment firm based in London, Hong Kong and Shanghai. Compo Expert has a hub in Asia and has expanded into new markets in Latin America and South America.
Triton stated that it sees further growth opportunities for the Compo's Consumer division in Europe. It acquired Terrasan, a Rain am Lech-based company that produces insecticide, fertilisers and lawn seeds, in 2012.
Previous funding
Triton acquired Compo for €205m in June 2011 from K+S Group. Compo had a turnover of €402.3m in 2009 and around 1,300 staff.

Headquartered in Krefeld, Compo Expert focuses on speciality fertilisers and growth-enhancing products for plants. It employs around 500 people.
Compo Consumer is headquartered in Münster and has further sites in Rain am Lech, Gnarrenburg and Uchte in Germany, as well as in Italy and France. Its product range includes fertilisers, plant protection products and potting soils. Founded in 1956, it has 600 employees worldwide.
