Seven Ventures leads Auxmoney's series-D
Seven Ventures has joined existing backers Index Ventures, Union Square Ventures and Foundation Capital in an eight-digit round for German online credit marketplace Auxmoney.
With the fresh capital, Auxmoney plans to hire additional employees, especially software developers, to further improve its product and to expand its marketing efforts.
Seven Ventures is the investment arm of German media group ProSiebenSat.1. Its last investment was also in the fintech sector, when it participated in the $2m seed round of Berlin-based investment platform Cashboard, alongside Earlybird, Heilemann Ventures and other backers.
Previous funding
In May 2014, Foundation Capital led the company's $16m series-B funding round, alongside Partech Ventures, Index and Union Square. Index and Union Square had invested $12m in the online marketplace in March 2013.
Company
Founded in 2007 by Raffael Johnen, Philipp Kriependorf and Philip Kamp, the Auxmoney platform enables private borrowers to secure personal loans funded by private and institutional investors.
The Düsseldorf-based company claims it offers more attractive rates to borrowers compared with banks by using a proprietary scoring system, combining consumer-scoring knowledge with online social and behavioural data.
