Project A backs Junomedical's seed round
Project A has provided a seven-digit euro seed funding round for Berlin-based medical tourism platform Junomedical.
Project A was actively looking to fund a startup in the sector and developed the business strategy together with Junomedical founder Sophie Chung. The dental and eyecare medical tourism service is currently free for patients. The startup earns money by charging the clinics.
Junomedical is walking a beaten track with its business model. Competitor Caremondo raised a seven-digit series-A in November 2015 from Holtzbrinck Ventures and business angels. In December 2014, medical travel startup Medigo received €5m from Accel Partners.
