
Bain closes third European fund EUR1bn over target
Bain Capital has reportedly closed a EUR3.5bn buy-out fund for Europe. The fund had a target of EUR2.5bn but eventually closed at the EUR3.5bn hard cap. The new fund takes over from the second European fund which closed in 2005 at EUR1bn. It is the firm's third European buy-out fund. Bain Capital Europe, based in London and Munich, is the European private equity affiliate of Bain Capital.
