Private equity groups circle EUR2bn-valued Caceis
According to reports, TPG, CVC Capital Partners and Advent International are seeking to table bids for a 45% stake in Caceis. The asset custody company is valued at between EUR1.5bn and EUR2bn. A second round of bids should take place later in January with the deal potentially being closed in Q1.
The private equity groups are in negotiations with Natixis, which owns a 50% share of the company. Credit Agricole, which owns the other half of the company, is said to be seeking to purchase 5% of Natixis' share in Caceis in order to gain majority control. BNP Paribas is also reported to be interested in a tie up with the business.
