BNP cedes venture investments
BNP Paribas Private Equity has divested its minority shareholdings in five companies after liquidating two of its venture capital funds, Antin FCPI 1 from 2001 and Antain FCPI 2 from 2002, earlier than planned. BNP was reported to be trying to offload non-core assets through the growing secondaries market. Two of the investments sold were early-stage companies while the other three were more mature. Over the last few years the investment bank has divested other companies from its funds. The companies were divested by auction using Rainmakers Private Equity and Optiva Capital as advisers. The exits were said to have returned satisfactory gains.
