Trio give $9m boost to online travel site
AGF Private Equity and existing backers Balderton Capital and Partech International have invested $9m in a second round of financing for TVtrip.com, an online hotel viewing site. The company has previously raised $4.8 million.
TVtrip.com, via its website, offers travelers the opportunity to watch a video of their desired hotel before booking. The website currently hosts around 3,000 filmed videos of hotels located across the world. The financing round will be used to increase TVtrip.com's video offering by expanding further into US and Asian markets. The investment will also be used to strengthen its money-making activities, such as revenue affiliation and qualified leads, as well as advertising and the licensing of the video catalogue.
TVtrip.com employs a staff of 30 across offices in Paris, Singapore, Bucharest and Brussels. Marc Ruff, company founder and CEO, launched the US-based company in 2007.
