Apax to divest Morgan
Apax Partners is reportedly seeking to divest Morgan, the Parisian pret-a-porter fashion house. Apax originally invested in the company in 1998. The sale of Morgan is reported to interest Emerisque the investment company belonging to Ajay Khaitan the owner of jeans company Lee Cooper.
The company was taken over by Odette and Jocelyne Abeshera in 1968. While previously largely anonyms, the company took off in the 1980's with a rebranding involving the current heart-shaped logo. Morgan has 600 sales points in 55 different countries which generated a turnover of EUR189.2m in 2007, an 8% increase on the previous year.
