
Ysios et al. raise €15.5m series-B for CorWave
Spanish venture capital firm Ysios Capital has joined a €15.5m series-B round for French cardiac devices producer CorWave, led by Novo Seeds.
The deal saw existing shareholders Sofinnova Partners, BPI France and Seventure Partners participating in the round, alongside new investor Novo Seeds, which led the round. As part of the deal, Ysios general partner Josep Lluis Sanfeliu and Novo Seeds investment director Emmanuelle Coutanceau will join the company's board of directors.
According to a statement, the funding round will allow the company to conduct its first clinical study.
Previous funding
In 2011, the company was incorporated by medtech incubator MD Start and more recently raised a €3.3m series-A round in 2013.

Founded in 2011 and headquartered in Paris, CorWave develops mechanical circulatory devices, including medical pumps focusing on mimicking the native heart flow pattern and correcting main heart failure symptoms.
The pre-revenue business employs a staff of 20.
