
Cathay, BPI-backed AD Education bolts on Ces
French group AD Education, a company backed by Cathay Capital and BPI France, has wholly acquired Spanish school Escuela Superior de Imagen Sonido y Tecnología (Ces), Unquote understands.
Following this add-on, AD Education will generate revenues of €114m and manage courses for around 15,000 students, Unquote understands.
The acquisition of Ces shortly follows the purchase of Accademia Italiana Arte Moda e Design, an Italian university dedicated to fashion and graphics; the academy was bought by AD Education at the beginning of the month.
Cathay and BPI France invested in AD Education in October 2016 by acquiring a minority stake, while Kevin Guenegan, son of the founders, retained the majority.
Established in 1990 and based in Paris, AD Education manages a network of higher education institutions. The group manages a network of 10 universities and 32 campuses (26 in France, four in Italy and two in Spain).
