
Ardian backs smart city specialist Wintics
Ardian has acquired a minority stake in Wintics, a French developer of software for smart cities and transport operators.
Ardian acquired a 14% stake in the company, investing from its Ardian Infrastructure platform.
The GP backed Wintics alongside a group of business angels, investing a combined €1m.
Wintics plans to use the fresh capital and Ardian's support to scale up its technology and accelerate its expansion in France and internationally.
Company
Founded in 2017 and based in Paris, Wintics uses deep-learning algorithms that gather data from cameras installed around cities, in order to provide video analysis and insights for transport operators and public authorities.
Its software is able to monitor traffic, bicycle lanes, crossroads, car-pooling, tolling systems and public transportation, with the aim of optimising traffic management, reducing congestion and pollution, improving public safety and integrating soft mobility solutions for infrastructures and cities.
