
iXO et al. exit VSG in trade sale
Visualization Sciences Group (VSG) – a French imaging software developer backed by iXO Private Equity, Tourrette Investissements and CA Aquitaine Expansion – has been acquired by US-based trade player FEI Inc for €44.8m.
iXO invested €5.5m for a majority stake in the $12m management buyout of VSG in 2009, alongside Tourrette and CA Aquitaine. Management took a 22% stake, and Crédit Agricole provided senior debt facilities.
Under its ownership, VSG saw its turnover increase from $12m to $19m, while headcount grew from 52 to 88.

Founded in 1986, VSG develops 3D visualisation software products and tools. It targets a range of markets, including the oil & gas, geosciences, mining, life sciences, materials science and industrial inspection industries. The company is headquartered in Mérignac.
