Ventech et al. invest €8m in Unilend
Ventech, 360 Capital Partners and BPI France have invested €8m in French crowdlending platform Unilend.
Rothschild intermediated the transaction. According to Unilend co-founder Nicolas Lesur, the company received interest totalling €25m from investors wanting to take part in the capital increase.
The fresh capital will allow Unilend to bolster its growth in France, and extend its reach to neighbouring European countries.
Ventech, the former venture arm of Natixis Private Equity, closed its Ventech Capital F fund above target on €110m in November last year. The vehicle counts the European Investment Fund, Natixis Private Equity and Malakoff Médéric among its LPs.
Company
Founded in late 2013, Unilend is a crowdlending platform targeting loans to SMEs and start-ups across Europe. The platform has already backed 115 companies, for a total of €9.1m, according to the company. Earlier this year, Unilend struck a partnership with bank Groupama, which committed to lending €100m via the platform over the next four years.
