Omnes and Partech in €1.2m round for MesDocteurs
French investors Omnes Capital, Partech Ventures and a business angel have injected a joint €1.2m to support the creation of online healthcare advisory service MesDocteurs.
The institutional funds, the first to be raised by MesDocteurs since its foundation in 2015, come as the startup gears up towards launch.
Having already tested its healthcare counselling services among online users, the business is now focusing on a video and audio contact line, an Android app and will target insurers via a dedicated B2B service. In addition, work is already underway to secure the regulatory approvals the company needs to run its service.
The plans will demand an enlarged workforce, with plans by MesDocteurs to double its existing six-strong web marketing and web development team by Q3 2016.
Omnes is well acquainted with the startup's founders Chloé Ramade, Séverine Grégoire and Nicolas Orofino, having backed the trio when they created online retailer MonShowRoom.
Founded in 2006, MonShowRoom first raised seed capital from entrepreneurs in 2007 and then secured a joint €4.3m from Omnes and Alven Capital in February 2009. In February 2012, Omnes exited its stake to trade buyer Groupe Casino amid claims that the company had boosted turnover from €2m to €20m in the three-year period.
Company
Founded in 2015, MesDocteurs runs a platform allowing users to send anonymous, health-related enquiries to doctors. Operating both online and through a mobile app, the service refers patients to emergency services where needed. Headquartered in Marseille, the startup currently employs six web marketing experts and is partnered with more than 60 qualified doctors.
