Ardian invests €2.5m in Clever Age
Ardian has acquired a minority stake in Clever Age, a French digital and mobile consultancy and design firm, through a €2.5m investment.
The company will use the fresh funding and Ardian's network to develop internationally.
Ardian has been busy since the start of the year. Last week the firm teamed up with Resource Partners to acquire Chojecki, a Polish biscuit manufacturer. The firm also invested in Paris-based software company Saaswedo.
Company
Founded in 2001, Clever Age is headquartered in Paris with a further three French offices located in Lyon, Bordeaux and Nantes. The company also runs a Clever Institut training centre and has bases in Switzerland and Hong Kong.
Clever Age runs three divisions: Clever Garden, which offers interactive communication services for user experience designers, art directors and front-end developers; Clever Forge, which provides consultancy services for digital projects such as mobile apps and corporate social networks; and Clever Presence, which consults on post-online services such as front-end performance, search engine optimisation and hosting.
Clients include Longchamp, April Assurances and Aramis Auto. The company employs 150 staff. It generated around €9m in revenues in 2012.

Frédéric Bon is the president and founder of Clever Age. Ardian Croissance head Laurent Foata and senior investment manager Geoffroy de La Grandière worked on the deal.
