Reliable support
unquote" data reveals support services as the top-performing sector
In the first of a monthly statistics-focussed feature called The Data Room, we have chosen to analyse private equity's picks of the sectors over the past five years. Unsurprisingly, support services came out on top. The sector encompasses business support services including everything from consultancy to printing services; financial administration; industrial suppliers; and waste and disposal services. The latter is predicted to be one of the most popular sub-sectors within cleantech and green investments.
Interestingly, healthcare equipment and services came second in the Nordic region, though historically is only the sixth most popular sector on a European level, with 163 recorded deals. However, some GPs predict that we will see similar trends on the continent as well. Spain has started already, and the UK is expected to follow shortly, with its low rates of private involvement in healthcare.
