New EU-backed fund to support SME in Lithuania
An EUR80m holding fund has been established to support economic growth in Lithuania through the financing of SMEs. The European Investment Fund will manage the fund, and has signed a funding agreement with the Lithuanian Ministry of Economy and Ministry of Finance. The fund is part of the JEREMIE Holding Fund which aims to improve access to finance for SMEs, start-ups and micro enterprises in the EU. JEREMIE receives its money from the operational programme European Growth, supported by the European Regional Development Fund. Investments from the fund will be made through intermediaries.
