Survey of SMEs finds CEOs optimistic
A survey has revealed that CEOs and managing directors of companies with turnovers between £10-100m are feeling optimistic about their relationship with private equity and their expectations for growth. Of those questioned, 71% felt that private equity backers set realistic targets - a far higher percentage than for bankers (45%) or business angels (43%), according to the survey commissioned by Bowmark Capital.
Additionally, 58% of respondents said that private equity partners provided useful guidance on strategy and more than half believed that having private equity investment will help entrepreneurial companies deliver the best growth. Just 12% thought that a stock exchange listing would provide a better route to growth.
One-third of SME's also expect 20%+ growth in revenue and profits over the coming 12 months.
