CVC Capital Partners interested in Royal Mail
According to reports, Global private equity firm CVC Capital Partners, which acquired 22% of Post Danmark from the Danish state in 2005 and later merged it with the Swedish equivalent Posten AB in 2008, is interested in taking a stake in UK postal operator Royal Mail. Dutch logistics company TNT and parcel courier DHL are believed to be interested as well. The news come after business secretary Peter Mandelson said in December that Royal Mail should be part-privatised to improve its competitiveness. CVC also holds a 50% stake in the Belgian postal services.
