International firms expand to Stockholm
Riverside opens in Sweden
Riverside opened its Stockholm branch earlier this year and will launch its new offices in October. The firm made two investments in Sweden this summer, SPX Air Filtration and MekoTeknik, and is looking to investigate approximately 200 opportunities across the Nordic region over the next 12 months. The aim is to complete another one or two deals. "Despite the difficult market conditions, we believe that the deal flow in the region is still good and of high quality. Furthermore, management teams are highly capable, internationally-oriented and growth-focused - something we like at Riverside," partner Thomas Blomqvist explains.
Blomqvist is responsible for the GP's investments in the Nordic region and works in the Stockholm office together with Lars Eriksson who is heading the deal origination in the region. Over the next 24 months, Riverside plans to build a team of another two to three people. The visiting address will be Blasieholmsgatan 4A, Stockholm.
