EQT opens office in Warsaw
As part of its expansions plans into Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), EQT Partners will open a new office in Warsaw, Poland. The region is one of the fastest growing in the world, with a predicted growth rate of above 5% on average according to EQT. The market is relatively new to EQT and, according to its managing partner Conni Jonsson, represents excellent investment opportunities. EQT also expects its presence in Warsaw to support existing portfolio companies looking to expand by assisting them in add-on acquisitions and assessing potential markets.
To head the CEE organisation EQT has hired Piotr Czapski. Joining as partner, Czapski was formerly strategy and business development director and member of the management board of Netia SA, a telecom operator in Poland. Prior to this, he led McKinsey & Co's business technology practice in Eastern Europe. Czapski holds a PhD in electrical engineering from the University of Washington in the US.
