BlackRock launches alternative assets fund
International asset manager BlackRock has launched a "fund of alternatives" pooled fund targeted at institutional investors, which will offer access to a range of alternative investments.
The fund will invest across the full range of alternative asset classes, including hedge funds, hedge funds-of-funds, private equity, real estate, commodities and infrastructure, including both external vehicles and those managed by BlackRock itself. It will be managed by BlackRock's multi-asset portfolio strategies (MAPS) team, and will be led by Ewen Cameron Watt.
