Bavaria Industriekapital buys Hunsfos Fabrikker
The German industry holding Bavaria Industriekapital AG has acquired Hunsfos Fabrikker AS, a paper and pulp producer in Vennesla in Norway. The vendor, Swiss Cham Paper Group, stated the sale was part of their strategic re-orientation, and reportedly recorded a non-cash bookkeeping loss of CHF 19m following the sale. Cham-Tenero Paper Mills Inc acquired the Norwegian paper business in 1999. Hunsfos currently employs 120 people and generated a turnover of approximately NOK 420m in 2007, with an operating profit of NOK 12m.
