Finland mutual funds to invest in private equity
After clarification on The Finnish Mutual Funds Act from local regulators, Finland will permit mutual funds to invest in private equity vehicles. The amendment is expected to boost fundraising. As the recently published European Fundraising Review 2008 reveals, Finnish buyout funds raised EUR560m in new capital in 2007, up 278% from 2006. Ventures funds, on the other hand, saw a decrease in new capital raised, attracting EUR173m in 2007, against EUR201m in 2006.
