EQT Ventures leads €4m round for gaming studio Reworks
EQT Ventures has led a €4m funding round for Helsinki-based mobile games studio Reworks, which has launched its first game, Redecor.
Other investors in the round included Play Ventures, and Anton Gauffin, founding CEO at Huuuge Games.
The funding will be used to further develop Redecor, in which players take part in life-like home decoration challenges, explore home decors and compete with other designers. The studio aims to become the leading playground for home decor.
Following the investment, Lars Jörnow, partner and investment advisor at EQT Ventures, will join the Reworks board.
The gaming studio was launched in 2018 and is led by former staff of Sumoing, a gaming studio whose previous game, Recolor, has had over 35 million downloads to date.
Previous funding
Reworks raised $1.5m in March 2019 in a pre-seed funding round led by early-games investors Play Ventures and Big Bets. Finnish government funding agency Business Finland also contributed to the round.
