Entreprenörinvest and Innovum in $1.1m round for LocalizeDirect
Swedish software company LocalizeDirect has raised $1.1m from investors including Ikea Family Foundation-owned Entreprenörinvest, Innovum Invest and other Swedish venture capital firms and private individuals.
Existing investors also took part in the round. According to Crunchbase, the tech startup has raised $354,000 in one previous funding round.
Jan Andersson, founder of cloud-based invoice automation software developer ReadSoft, now known as Kofax, will join the company's board of directors.
LocalizeDirect will use the proceeds to launch and develop Gridly, a content management system (CMS) for multilingual game projects. The product is currently at development stage and is due to be released in September 2020.
Managing director Christoffer Nilsson said: "Instead of a one-time launch, developers now push out new content frequently, often on a weekly basis, in multiple languages. Managing game data for agile multiplatform and multilingual releases is time-consuming and can rapidly spiral out of control. Gridly facilitates this process, allowing the product teams to cooperate more efficiently time- and cost-wise."
Company
Founded in 2009 and based in Helsingborg, LocalizeDirect offers a cloud-based software-as-a-service to game developers, allowing them to localise games faster and in a cost-effective way. The company has 11-50 employees, according to Crunchbase.
