
HIG-backed Meyra acquires TA Service
HIG Capital portfolio company Meyra has acquired wheelchair manufacturer TA Service.
The firm acquired mobility products manufacturers Meyra and Alu Rehab in October 2019 with a view to merging them. HIG was investing from HIG Europe Capital Partners II, which closed on €825m in 2013 and was 71% deployed in March 2019. The fund writes equity cheques of €20-40m.
Founded in 1936, Meyra designs, manufactures and sells active and electricity-powered wheelchairs, rehabilitation equipment and orthopaedics. With manufacturing, assembly and distribution sites in Germany and Poland, Meyra employs approximately 600 staff and is expected to generate more than €80m in sales in 2019, according to a statement.
